12 May. Singapore Airline announced daily flights to Surabaya while increasing the frequency of flights to the capital Jakarta and Bali island. Starting July 2013, SIA will operate two flights daily to Surabaya which is currently being operated by SilkAir, which is a regional subsidiary of SIA.
25 April. Changi Airport handled 4.6 million passengers in March of 2013 which translates to a 7.7 increase from March of 2012. Reports shows that the Good Friday long weekend contributed to increased traffic in the airport as well as aircraft movements that also increased by 5.2%.
17 April. Changi Airport Singapore has announced the construction of a fourth passenger terminal. The US$ 853 million project is set to start in Q4 2013 and is expected to be completed early 2017. The terminal is designed to handle 16 million passengers adding to the airport's existing 66 million capacity.
11 April. Changi Airport has been named the world's best. This award was given by the World Airport Awards in Geneva and is the fourth time in 14 years. According to the news, this was based from a poll conducted to 12.1 million passengers worldwide over a nine-month period.
4 April. CNN Travel published ten of the Singapore’s best hotels citing that Singapore hotels won’t slack but continue to outdo the competition.
19 March. After missing around 15 million arrivals in 2012, the country's tourism board says, it expects moderate growth in foreign tourist arriving in Singapore this 2013. In a report released by World Economic Forum or WEF, Singapore ranked number one in Asia on travel and tourism and tenth among 140 countries and regions worldwide.
28 Feb. Marriott Hotel Singapore at Orchard Road has completed its SG$35 Million renovation. The renovation transformed the hotel lobby and guest rooms into a more relaxing and cozy designs and made them fit in today's traveller's expectations and needs.
